JuicyCampus.com, a controversial college gossip site that has recently made front page news on CNN and FOX News, approached Circa96 to help them scale up to meet their sudden surge in traffic. Circa96 performed a formal database and systems analysis on their PHP/mySQL web application, tuned the database tables and engine, optimized the interaction with mysql from PHP, and implemented Memcached as a caching layer against superfluous and/or common queries. Circa96 also worked with their ISP to provide recommendations on a hardware scaling plan.

Circa96 worked closely with the Tequila Analyst team to design and implement a data warehouse for one of their clients' interactive marketing accounts. Core services provided include: built an ETL component in C#.Net to migrate ~50,000 records from Excel spreadsheets into a SQL warehouse, as well as a web UI to allow analysts to run future imports, roll back imports, view log files, and run ad hoc queries against the warehouse.

Hype Networks offers an exhaustive toolkit of social networking and media sharing functionality that allows companies to rapidly build, customize, moderate, and extend upon the Hype platform with features comparable to Facebook, YouTube, and eBay. This effectively enables them to focus their efforts on pushing their ideas to market without loading themselves up with the expense of builidng the functionality from scratch. Circa96 has performed database and systems architecture for ad hoc rollouts as well as developed applications for the Facebook platform.

Search and Clear is software-as-a-service application for managing and versioning enterprise data, documents, and communications. Circa96 architected and developed this platform from the ground up to exceed the standards of the currently available document audit systems. The functionality suite currently contains a fully administrable and customizable security management module; an online workspace for managing, securing, and versioning documents; a proprietary archival system for allowing multiple users to annotate and communicate about documents; a sophisticated, secure notifications system for keeping users up to date; and a comprehensive search module for mining data from past projects.

Circa96 provides outsourced ETL and systems integration services for SalesForce's clients.  SalesForce.com, a "software-as-a-service" model for managing enterprise data, provides an alternative to high-cost ERP and CRM platforms such as PeopleSoft and SAP.  Many rollouts require an initial data integration phase as well as ongoing data integrity and transformation phase.  Circa96 has provided these services to SalesForce.com clients over the last 2 years, primarily in the Healthcare and Banking industries.

Circa96 has worked on enhancing the online footprint of eForceMedia, a growing lead generation company spread across multiple marketing verticals. To help maintain eForce's edge in the competitive auto market, we developed a content-heavy portal for gathering targeted auto purchase and loan inquiries and subsequently matching the leads with the highest paying buyers. The effort involved the integration of 3 syndicated data sets, the preservation of the data integrity, and data mapping software for purchasing Google and Overture keywords. eForce has subsequently seen a sharp increase in conversions and a decrease in unsold leads.

FilmFresh is a membership based film content site containing interviews with filmmakers, articles, event information, and a monthly DVD club. Circa96 developed the middleware for a bi-directional integration system to move data between Expression Engine(a PHP/Smarty/MySQL web publishing system) with a commercial eStore product written in ASP and SQL. We also aided in the the creation of a content-on-demand platform for serving DIVX and Windows Media DRM video for download-to-rent and download-to-burn services.
